Drama Queen, Already

I just have to share this picture of my little girl practicing for her teenage years. This tantrum was because I wouldn't let her keep watching Dora the Explorer on TV for the eleven hundredth time. LOL!! She was not happy that I had the camera out. It was very hard to get a face shot, she kept turning away when she saw I had the camera poised to snap a picture.

On to Kindergarten

Last night my little boy graduated!! From preschool that is. He was so cute walking across the stage and getting his 'diploma' and his bible. I am so surprised that I didn't shed even one tear. I think it was because my husband had to work and I was getting both kids ready and dinner and cleaned up and dressed and in the car on time (sort of) to get to the school so they could get him dressed into the cap and gown. Stella behaved for the most part. On the video we can hear her just babbling away and she keeps tugging on me so the video is REALLY wiggly. Then after the classes sang their songs and they did the whole walking across the stage one by one we went and had cookies and cake. Then we went, for the last time, to his classroom to pick up any last minute things and his teacher, Ms. Leslie, had made all her students cards with pictures and a little blurb about them. They were really nice, like little scrapbooking pages.

Now the next step is on to Kindergarten. Hunter will be in kindergarten and Lucas is going to middle school. I'm kinda bummed that they won't go to school together at least one year. Oh well!

I'm also still kinda shocked that Lucas's mom hasn't asked to have him move back to her house. She had said at one point that she was GOING to get him back and that she only let him move in with us because she was SURE that it was going to fail and he would be begging to leave here. Boy was she wrong, I think he actually likes it here. Anyway, that situation has been on my mind, things change so quickly that I wonder if it will be that way by the end of the summer. I like to plan things and having a Ex involved seems to screw that up more frequently than I would like.

T-ball Party

Today was Hunter's T-ball party at the coaches house. We had a really good time. All three kids swam in the pool almost the whole time. The only time they got out was to eat and pee. Coach Ken passed out the trophies to the kids and we (the parents) gave him a couple of gift cards as a thank you. I got some great pics of Stella and Daddy playing and a couple of Hunter being launched in to the pool like a cannon ball.

My Mom is Coming Down

Just found out that my mom is coming down soon. Like in 2 weeks. That is the shortest notice trip she's planned. The kids are excited that she is coming. Two weeks is easy for Hunter to grasp the concept of. It is a lot easier than 2 months away. Normally she rents a car but after the last time she came and had rental car disaster times 2, I'm going to pick her up from TIA and drive her back somewhere (TBD) to meet my sister and from there my sister will drive her back to TIA. I'm looking forward to her being here!

Oh, It was Mother's Day...

Is exactly what I think my husband was thinking. No Breakfast in bed. No big fancy present. No little present. No card. Not even a card he had Hunter and Stella make while I was napping because he forgot to get one earlier. Nope. Nothing. Zip. Zero. And to think that last week he was telling me what the kids could get him for Father's Day. Then to top that off, Lucas comes home from his mother's house and he said that her boyfriend had cooked a giant breakfast for her and everyone else. WTH, they don't even have kids together, nor are they married or anything. UGH!! I asked him to let me go to Mayfaire (the art show my dad was a vendor at) by my self and he says " but I've never been to one, you always go when your dad's in town." And I'm thinking, yeah, with 2 -3 kids who don't want to be there in tow. What great fun that is! Can you tell I'm a little ticked off? So we went to Mayfaire and of course the kids are complaining and he's ready to go before we have even seen half of the stuff. We did walk the whole length and back but did not stop to really look at anything.

I guess next year I'm just going to have to plan my day and tell him what's going to happen and if he doesn't like it..... TOO BAD!!!

My Dad is coming

My dad is coming to stay with us tonight and tomorrow night because is a vendor at the Mayfair Art Show. For anyone who has lived in Lakeland they would know that it is the biggest art fair in the area. My dad and stepmom, Jeanie, will be here later tonight after they set-up their tent down by the lake. When Hunter found out that they were not going to be here in the morning so that grampa could play with him he was very upset. "HUMPF... Then I don't want him to come at all!" he says making the grumpy/mad face and pouting. It's hard not to laugh when you know that he is genuinely upset by the fact that Grampa isn't coming to play but to work instead. My dad is so good with the kids. It honestly surprises me how good he is. I just never really saw him in that light before now. Maybe it's because he was hurt and can no longer do what he used to do physically. Whatever the reason, I love how he is with them. The picture is of my dad and Hunter and Stella when Stella was about 4 days old. I tried to find a more recent picture but I don't seem to have any. I'll have to change that when he is here this weekend.

Stressed

Ok, We are refinancing the house and I'm totally stressed about it, I just hate that it is such a huge financial commitment and we can't lock in our rate until 30 days before we sign. I only have 30 days to make sure it's the right move! Plus we are hoping to take money out to fix the play room and make it our new living room. That takes some planning and I just NEED to know what is happening.

The other stress right now is figuring out what in the world I'm gonna do with 3 kids all summer. With the age difference between Hunter and Lucas it's going to be hard to find things that are appropriate for both of them. Stella is really just along for the ride at this point. I wouldn't be so hard if we weren't on a budget. I would just get passes to all the theme parks and we could just rotate doing them. That would cost a small fortune. Disney alone would be $1400 for all of us. I think I will settle for a zoo pass and maybe Adventure Island. Or maybe the weekday pass to Wet n' Wild.... I don't know...... So many choices, so little money.

Vacation is another thing to add to the 'I'm stressed out about it' list. It depends on the refinance too. Not as much as the remodel but still it weighs in the balance of whether or not we can get the terms we need/want. We want to spend a week over in Orlando at a resort and do one of the big parks and a water park and Wonder Works and some other stuff and hopefully Andrew and I can get some relaxing in somewhere. Key word: Hopefully.

First one ever...

Well, I have decided to start my own blog. I enjoy reading my friends blogs (even if they don't post too much) So I figured I should start one so they can enjoy reading about my life, LOL! This is all totally new to me. I will have to learn how to post pictures and add links and all that stuff.

This morning I got up and decided to take Hunter and Stella to Kid City. When we walked out of the house it was all smoky and I just figured someone in the neighborhood was burning, NBD, right? Well, the further we got from the house the worse it got. I finally heard on the radio that it is smoke from the forest fires in north Florida and the smoke is being blown all the way down here by the wind. It's making a beautiful day yucky and I was hoping to open the house up again today but now I can't.
